John Porter + Mary Endicott's 1635 American immigration
Little is known about this particular John and Mary, outside the facts John is believed to have been born in Dorsetshire, England, that he had property and money enabling him to do well for himself in Hingham (Massachusetts Colony), and that his children had more children and thus my Porter line flowed on down like a river to me and my siblings. He died in 1676, but not before his DNA passed on to all of us, mingling with that of others to follow. Other details might fit as well, though they differ slightly. I will revise this post with the specifics on that.
This will be a sort of sketchpad for me to better understand the information I have gathered over the past several years of genealogical research to more easily share it with known my Porter family members. It is also a sort of heat signature left here for Google and Bing in the hopes of gathering more people on a similar quest, exchanging information and sources, and generally learning more. It will likely be part musings on my experiences thus far as well. Here's to digging into the past, and taking a look at all the interesting characters in my Pile of Porters.
I failed to properly cite where some of my paraphrasing above came from. At least one of the sources used was William D Terrill's genealogy.com page. My apologies for leaving that out.
